You've Got Mail!

Hi everyone! We have a new skill! Paddy and I are now mailmen. We can deliver mail to anyone - mum just gives us the envelope and points us in the right direction and we take the mail to whom ever it belongs to! Here are some pics...

My Toys

Hi everyone! Not much has been happening around here lately, so I thought I would take this opportunity to show you all my great toy collection. All my relatives (mum, dad, aunty Mel, grandma & grandpa's, godmum V etc) buy me a lot of toys, and whenever mum or dad go away for work or holidays, they always bring Paddy and I back a toy. I am really proud of my collection..

Sunday Best

Look out birds here I come!

I love playing fetch, this is my stick for the day!

Thats a giant statue of Louis the Sun King behind me, its huge!

Isnt this a pretty building, pretty just like moi, ha!

Hi Friends!

Today was a fun day, Pupup agreed to take care of Baby Bro Barkley so me and Mamam could get some good quality time together - just the two of us. We went for a nice long walk around Montpellier and enjoyed taking pics amongst the pretty town scenery. We saw lots of paw friends and even a couple of pretty King Charles Cavaliers that I ran up to thinking they were by good blogging pals Momo and Pinot, but Mamam said that they live half way across the world so it couldn't be them!! Now we are back home and while Pupup and Baby Bro are at the pub watching the soccer, me and Mamam are snuggling on the couch with a cup of tea and cookies. Happy Sunday!

Introducing..........BUDDY!!

Poodle Soup is proud to announce we have a new contributor to our blog. Welcome Buddy, we look forward to reading about your adventures!!

Buddy's 1st post....
One sunny day at the end of a beautiful summer spent on the shores of the Mediterranean, my human companions informed me that they would be returning to their native country, Canada, in January, and they invited me to come along. Having lived all of my life until that point in the South of France (I was born in a small town near Nimes, called Beauvoisin), I was worried about the culture and temperature shock of living in Canada. Two years later, I have happily adapted to the people and the snow (love it!). Although both the humans and dogs are not as warm and as culturally aware as my compatriots, the city in which I live, Ottawa, has a large proportion of francophones (it is situated on the border of Ontario and “la belle province”, le Québec), so linguistically speaking, I still switch often between English and French (as my human companions are bilingual, but native anglophones, I had already been switching back and forth for quite some time). As for the snow, I am so grateful for the good fortune of living with snow for several months of the year. It seems like each year it comes again as a pleasant, cold surprise. I really can’t get enough of running through deep stretches of untouched powder. I feel that this experience has given me a taste of the amazement of the original French explorer dogs at the sight of the endless expanses of snowy fields…and it connects me to the history of my newly adopted country, le Canada. Je suis un vrai canadien-français!

LOST!!

Crisis!!
But only for a few seconds.....thank goodness!!
I went out for a walk with my Puppup and baby bro, and my Puppup couldnt find me. Panic set in for a few seconds but I was found. You see it was a bit chilly so I walked into the pharmacy with the magic sliding doors. But then once I was inside I couldnt get out!!
Luckily my Puppup saw me and came and opened the magic sliding doors to let me out. Phew.
All good, back at home snuggling with Mamam now.
Crisis over.

My New Hat..

Hi Ripley! I loved your Paris photos! Speaking of traveling, my ma recently went to Venice and she bought me back a great hat - I love to wear it all the time - it's going to come in very handy this summer I think...

Paris & Me

Here I am sitting in the TGV on my way to Paris admiring the lovely French scenery.
Here I am very comfortably looking after bags filled with presents for ME!! Thats my Grandma in the red jacket pushing me along.

As an Aussie Poodle Ive been lucky enough to see quite a bit of the world by living here in France. A few months ago Grandma came to visit us in France. Me and Maman went up to Paris to pick her up from the airport. We had to take the TGV which is a supa fast train, I of course sat on Mamans lap all the way, none of this business putting me in a unfriendly cage locked away in the baggage section. The thing I like about France is that it is wonderful how I am allowed to travel in trains and stay in hotels with my human family, quite different from Australia. Mamam would never be happy with anything less as I am her baby and she loves me so much!!

Back in Business!

Dear Friends!!
Im back, yes have been away for a while, but still always checkin out my fellow friends blogs to keep me entertained. You see, my Mamam was sick for a while, she had to go to hospital for a long time and left me in charge. But she is all good now and happy to be back helpin me out to post my latest adventures on this blog!
Well, the other weekend me, Mamam, Papa, Baby Bro and my Grandma (who is all the way over here from Australia) went to swim in the beautiful waters of St Gulliham Desert, which is a beautiful little French town near our home. The water was so clear and fresh! Much nicer than a beach as I dont like waves...they scare me!!
Mamam packed me a picnic lunch and we played fetch all day!! It was so much fun!!
Lots of love from Ripley

Fun with Ribbons!!

Hey Ripper!

Today there was tons of ribbon kicking around the house and so Paddy and I had a ball rolling around playing with it!

Hope you are well and staying out of the cold! It's been raining here for a few days now, so mum and dad have been trying to entertain us indoors, but we can only watch Finding Nemo so many times you know?

What can ya do.

Love Oscar! xxoo

Winter Blues

Hey Oscar, Paddy and Friends,
I gotta tell ya that I am struggling with the Winter temperatures!! I cant wait for the Summer. Im just not a cold weather kinda guy, you cant go for walks, cant run in the wet grass and worst is that Mamam wont open the windows meaning I cant bark at people walking by!
I do like sitting in front of the fireplace after a milk bath, and cuddles with Mamam though!

MERRY CHRISTMAS RIPLEY!!

Hey mate! Did you have a great Christmas? Your Elf video is brilliant - I see you have been working on your dancing - Paddy will be so impressed!!

We had a fun Christmas - I gave Paddy a Cookie Monster toy and he gave me a bubble making machine!! It is so much fun - we just love bubbles - we chase them and chase them and then have naps and chase them some more. It's super fun, although sometimes when we bite them they taste a bit gross, but it's totally worth it.

Hope you are having fun holidays - love to Lola, Barkley & the gang!

Love Oscar. Bubble King.

It's Christmas Time!!!

Hey Ripley!! Oh man - congrats on the new baby-bro!! So glad to hear that you are giving him lots of love, but also letting him know his boundaries and what the pecking order is (ie. Ripley, Mum, Dad, Barkley then Lola).

Things are great here - Christmas is in full swing at the ranch!! Mum bought a massive tree - have your parents put a tree up? Dude - they are so much fun - you can drag baubles off the branches and hide them. I also love attempting to drag presents away so that I can chew them, but Mum always stops me before I can get a good grip...that's a long term project though - I think that before Christmas I can definitely get one demolished, maybe two.

Tonight I had my annual Christmas-photo-portrait done. (Not sure what 'annual', 'photo' or 'portrait' mean, but the whole experience was super annoying - Mum kept telling me to keep my head still but there was just so much to look at that it was really tough to concentrate..)

Anyhoo - congrats again on baby Barkley - does he throw the ball yet? In my experience humans aren't really that interesting until they can throw balls and/or sticks...

Big hugs,

Oscar xx

The House Pecking Order

Dear Oscar, Paddy and Friends,

Since Christamas is coming I had to make clear the pecking order of the house. There will be lots of presents, toys and food during the holidays and I had to make it clear to Baby Barkley who gets first dibs on these things - its me!!
He agreed, as everyone does when I make my demands!!
I felt generous today so I let him have the "Baby Gym" Mamam bought this week, it was too small for me so I parted with it easily, gosh Im a sweet Poodle!!

Gros bisous my friends!!
Love from Ripley

We have been getting on supa well and I dont even bark when he cries. Ive also been a big help to Mamam, she is still so tired but so happy to have another poodle in the house - but I wonder when he will grow long ears and a tail, unfortunately he isn't as handsome as moi!!!

See-food Diet

Dear Oscar Paddy and all of our wonderful Blogging Friends!
I am on official duty to help Mamam with her 'See-food Diet', that is that you see the food then you eat it, YAY!!!
Poor Mamam is always hungry these days, my little brother is coming soon and all of this waiting is making us both hungry.

So far this week I have helped her prepare:
15 Lasagne's
12 Cornish pasties
2 kilos of Poodleloaf (for recipe see May 08 post)

All of this ready to de-freeze, heat and eat just for me, Pupup and Lola whilst she is away in hospital. She knows that although Pupup loves me, he just doesn't cut the mustard when it comes to preparing my gourmet dinner every night!!
Now were are just about to dig in to our Sunday lunch, a real Seafood Platter this time, YUM!!

Bon  Appetite!!

Poodle-craft

Oh my gosh - look at that beautiful tummy!!! Lola is gorgeous! We have cats at our house too and they have big tummys aswell. I wonder if ours ate brown bears too?

Things have been going well here at the ranch. It's starting to get really summery here at we have been for two swims already! We were a bit scared at first but now we dive in on our own. Papa D puts us on a floaty thing (we call it the 'poodle-craft') and drags us around the pool with him. It's super fun.

Oops - better go - I hear food being prepared inside!! Paddy and I stand up on a chair and look through the window and sometimes mum gives us treats! I have to stop Paddy from jumping into the window though cause he sometimes he gets over excited and jumps into the sink.

Byeeeee Ripley!!!

Morning Coffee

Hi Everyone!
Things are getting very strange, Mamam is getting really fat. Her belly is sooooo big now I cant have my morning coffee sitting on her lap, there is just no space at all!! Luckily Pupup comes to the rescue and lets me sit on him. Mamam is also making a strange bed, its all blue and pretty, she says its for my little brother who is in her tummy. Thats weird, how does one play fetch in her tummy?

Barf

Hey mate - oh you look so pretty after your bath!! Mama Tors got inspired after seeing your lovely new do and gave us baths too. I am pretty cool in the bath but Paddy HATES it!! He stands up on his hind legs and refuses to sit down or stand normally.

We were a bit cold but we got our hair blowdried so now were ok. Mama Tors doesn't really like blowdrying our hair but Papa Damo insists. I think he'd put bows in our hair if he could!!

Anyhoo, back to it. I've just spotted a dead toad on the road and me thinkith it needs rolling in...

Fresh from the Toilettage

Hi Everyone!!

Here I am all clean, coiffured and fresh from the Toilettage!! What a difference a haircut makes. I was soooooo dirty last weekend with my shenanigans of going through the dirty rubbish bag. I must say I'm happier being all white and pretty. I got so many pats on the way home. Mamam cant stop kissing me, I hope she ain't wearing any lipgloss, it makes my curls go all limp!!
Anyways, gotta go sit and admire my reflection in the oven door again.....

Lots of love

OH MY GOD!!!! DUDE I THOUGHT YOU WERE A DIFFERENT POODLE!!!!

Oh man that is so funny. Did you get the meat in the end? Jeez I hope so..

Apologies for not blogging for so long - my ma has been away and pa isn't a very keen blogger so no one was here to help me type. Paddy and I had a huge day today - Paddy's mum was mowing the lawn and so Paddy and I were trotting along behind her playing with the cut grass. We played in the grass for ages and now we are both so sleepy.

Let us know how you go at the toilettage - man - those nice French ladies have a BIG job ahead of them!!!

Hugs, Oscar xxxx

ps - Ma came home the other day with houses for all my brothers and sisters (the feline ones). They are super cute - when we assembled them mum put fairy lights around the entrances and next week she's going to make little fluffy mailboxes for them...Here's a picture of Bob in his. He is wondering if he will qualify for the First Homebuyers Grant. I told him I didn't think cats could get the First Homebuyers Grant, but mum's going to look into it for us..

Angel with a Dirty Face....and Paws!!

Hi Oscar and Paddy!!!

Look at me.......Mamam and Pupup decided to clean out the chimney. They made it all special and pretty for Lola to use as her cubby house (pics coming soon). So anyways I decided to help by digging through the garbage when they were all asleep. It wasnt my fault there was chimney dust all through the garbage bag!!! It also wasnt my fault that there happened to be some left over meat in the garbage bag too!!
A Poodle's gotta do what a Poodles gotta do.
Mamam is taking me to the Toilettage today, she loves me even though she says I am an Angel with a Dirty Face!!!
